Last April 9th and 10th I had the honour and pleasure of or- ganising the “Care of Joint Replacement Today” meeting held at the prestigious University of Padua Polyclinic. Internation- ally renowned speakers from 10 countries came together to share their experience with both Italian and non-Italian colleagues at- tending the meeting. The first clinical anatomy course and hands- on human cadaver lab was organised after the conference at the Institute of Human Anatomy, directed by Professor Raffaele De Caro: the course was staged in association with my friend and colleague, Professor Mario Randelli.

The congress offered us the privilege of exchanging ideas and insights into the prosthetic replacement of major joints and fueled scientific cooperation projects among different schools and traditions. Against a backdrop devoid of cultural barriers, the extensive question and answer sessions generated healthy and fruitful discussions leading to interesting and at times unexpected conclusions.

The clinical anatomy course allowed young surgeons keen to approach shoulder prosthetic surgery, to learn a great deal about this challenging surgical field from the world-famed “maestro” Mario Randelli who, together with other Tutors of proven experience, conveyed his 40 years of surgical experience with a very simple, friendly and dynamic approach.

Universities exist to educate and transfer knowledge: “Care of Joint Replacement Today” fulfilled that mission to perfection.

Lima Corporate is a valued partner in the field of orthopedics, contributing its engineering, technical and innovative skills and displaying its dynamic mindset by promoting educational initiatives as the foundation for cooperation between scientific research and industry.

A sincere thank you to all the speakers, chairmen, discussion promoters and tutors for their precious contributions:
